
the first time i had visited the angkor wat in cambodia i was, completely overwhelmed by the structure.
then wong kar wai happened. the last scene of in the moood for love where chow whispers a secret into a hole on one of the walls of the temple was possibly one of my favourite movie scenes. t
he second time i visited the angkor wat i couldnt help but see it in a completely different light, in a wong kar wai light. although the photo is not a great one, it was a naive young girl's feeble attempt 3 years ago to imitate wong kar wai's way-of-seeing-things.

Chow Mo-wan: They went up a mountain, found a tree, carved a hole in it, and whispered the secret into the hole. Then they covered it with mud. And leave the secret there forever.
